DLRA IN YOUR SCHOOL

TheDRy Lakes Racers Australia Inc (DLRA) is pleased to support theLand Speed Racing in Schools program by providing a 1hr FREE workshop to the schools involved encompassing a learning program which focuses on the initial phases of the program design with importance on Aerodynamics.

One of the key elements within the program is the way in which students are required to collaborate with leading industry organisations to source knowledge and resources during the project.

AVAILABLE WORKSHOPS
DLRA has trained course presenters located in all states and territories.

  • Beginner Workshop - For teams registered in the development or cadet categories, this workshop has been designed to assist teams in the intial drafting stages of their project by providing context and background to Formula 1 aerodynamic changes since 1960.
  • Advanced Workshop (new in 2015) - For teams who have previously participated in the DLRA beginner workshop or have registered in the professional category, this workshop is aimed at getting students to think outside the box when it comes to car design.

ABOUT THE Land Speed Racing IN SCHOOLS COMPETITION

Run by the DLRA the competition commenced in Australian in 2003 and is offered to all high schools across Australia. It focusses on developing the creativity and innovation of high school students through a structured engineering design project based on the development of a model streamliner.

Initially aimed at students in years 7–10 is now offered to students from years 5-12. Each year the program engages high school students in Australia and delivers industry-standard technology into schools which is made available to students outside the program.

 

VOLUNTEER/OFFICIALS OPPORTUNITIES

  • Becoming a DLRA Land Speed Racing in Schools Presenter

DLRA is always on the lookout for officials to assist with conducting sessions. To be eligible to present you must hold a valid DLRA officials licence and have undertook, completed and passed the DLRA course presenter training module. If this is you, then contact us at officiating@dlra.org.au

  • Becoming a DLRA Land Speed Racing in Schools Judge

The DLRA requires judges all across the country to assist and continue to attract experienced industry professionals. If you have experience in engineering, portfolio and pit displays and/or verbal presentations would like to assist please contact officiating@dlra.org.au
