3. Duties

 

3.1 Volunteer Instructions

On the day of your duty, you report direct to Event Coordinator.

Make sure you sign the Volunteers Book next to your name.

The morning session is from 7.30am to about 12.00 noon.

The afternoon session starts at about 1.00pm till 6.00pm or close of business on that day.

You must be ready to start your shift at these times.

Make sure you have a hat, sunglasses, sun cream, snacks. Water is provided from the esky at the DLRA Camp and there is toilets at the camp.

4. Tasks

4.1 Set Up

  • Check tyre pressure & inflate as required.
  • Fit battery & clean terminals, see event coordinator for battery.
  • Check engine oil level & top up as required.
  • Check, top up as required, brake & power steering fluid level.
  • Check cooling system level & top up as required.
  • Fuel up with fresh fuel.
  • Start engine & check sound general operation.
  • Check function of brakes, clutch & steering.
  • Check for excessive fluid leaks.
  • Clean air filter.
  • Report any issues or parts requirements to event coordinator.
  • Each 3rd year change engine oil, filter & grease where required.
  • Check gear box & diff oil levels

4.3 Pack Up

  • At the end of Speed Week return vehicle to D.L.R.A. camp site & remove battery, lock up vehicle, hand over battery & keys to coordinator.
