Toilet Contractor

1. Description

Cleaning of portable toilets at various location around the event area.

The club has 16 portable toilets of varying age, currently 8 are on trailers and 8 are not. These portable toilets are strategically placed at various locations (see below) around the event area to service the officials, entrants and general public.
They are all unisex except for one at Registration which is a FEMALE ONLY toilet.

 

1.1 Location

1 portable toilets at Start Line (no trailer),

2 portable toilets(1 womens toilet) at Registration (no trailer),

2 portable toilets at Mt. Ive Camp,

1 portable toilet at the Timers Van

1 portable toilet at Pre-Stage (no trailer),

1 portable toilet at Canteen,

Remainder are spaced out along the pits about in the middle from front to back. One to be placed close to Spectator Area.

 

2. Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the contractor to empty these portable toilets as required.

 

3. Duties

Servicing of the portable toilets can be done at any time, but ideally should be done early each morning and then checked again after lunch to see if they need to be serviced again.

The frequency with which the portable toilets may require attention will vary with the amount of people at the event.

Sunday through to the Wednesday will be the peak period and most toilets will need to be serviced twice daily.

The rest of the time they should only require servicing once a day.

 

3.1 Volunteer Instructions

The contractor reports direct to the water truck and vacuum trailer.

Make sure you have a hat, sunglasses, sun cream, snacks. Water is provided from the esky at the Registration Van.

The contractor emptying the portable toilets, reports to the Event Coordinator.

 

3. Tasks

3.1 Set Up (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

  • Portable toilets will be transported to lake by volunteers or the crane truck and located on the lake.
  • Contractor to pick up the Ford Trader from the DLRA camp, fit flashing light and UHF radio, tuned to Channel 10 from Registration Van
  • Load 2 x IBC's and fit water pump to truck
  • Fill IBC's from Moonlight Tank at DLRA camp (bore water).
  • DO NOT fill portable toilets with water until they are on the lake.
  • Tow Vacuum Tank down to the lake and then bolt vacuum pump on.
  • Commission Vacuum Tank trailer.
  • Check waste levels in portable toilets, service if necessary. Any that do not work or are damaged, put aside for repair and notify the Event Coordinator.
  • Once Vacuum tank is full, empty waste into evaporation pit.

 

3.2 During the event (Monday to Friday)

  • Refill 2 x IBC's from Moonlight Tank at DLRA camp (bore water)
  • For each portable toilet, pump out waste and fill with water
  • Empty waste into evaporation pit.

 

3.3 Pack Up (Friday)

  • At conclusion of Speed Week portable toilets are to be emptied of waste.
  • As each portable toilet is then decommissioned, lock the door and tape it shut.
  • Empty waste from vacuum tank into evaporation pit.
  • Decommission vacuum tank, remove vacuum pump.
  • Return Trader truck, IBC's water pump, vacuum tank and vacuum pump to DLRA camp.
  • Portable toilets are to be returned to the DLRA camp and parked between huts. This will be done by volunteers or the crane truck.

 

4. Equipment

1 x Trader tray truck, with flashing light and fixed Club Radio.

2 x IBC water tanks

1 x water pump and hose to fill the IBC tanks and the portable toilets

1 x Vacuum Tank trailer, vacuum pump and hose.

Toilet paper is stored in the Men's Ablution Block at the DLRA camp.

Cleaning chemicals, brushes and gloves are stored in the Men's Ablution Block at the DLRA camp.

The evapouration Pit is located 800 metres from the edge of the lake to the right on the access road to the DLRA camp.

 

 

5. Escalation
