DAILY RUN LOG

1.   A paper run log is kept as a back up to scoring computer failure or miss entered data.

2.   The run log consists of the following
  a. Starter or Start Line Assistant (staging lane) keeps a paper list of vehicle numbers that leave the start line and the time of day when they depart.
  b. The Course Control Assistant keeps a paper log of vehicle numbers as they leave the start line, speed through the measured mile of the respective course and time of day when the vehicle is on course.
  c. Those vehicles qualifying for impound are also noted in the log.

3.   These paper logs, especially the Race Control Tower log is an invaluable asset when correcting scoring errors or solving contestant complaints.  Typically the Course Control Assistant keeps these logs.
