INTRODUCTORY MODULE

 

Medical Officer - Lv1

 

 

The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for the organisation and operation of the Track Medical Service, including all doctors, paramedics, nurses and medical vehicle drivers in the team.

 

The Chief Medical Officer:

  • May assess or reassess the fitness of any driver to compete.
  • Shall arrange the treatment of all casualties resulting from motor racing incidents, and other casualties as considered appropriate, and to make further decisions regarding the treatment or transport of such casualties if necessary.
  • Must complete an Accident Report Form for each casualty treated, and ensure that these completed forms are passed on to the Clerk of the Course, or his nominee, daily.
  • Should advise the Clerk of the Course on the placement of emergency vehicles (in conjunction with the Emergency Coordinator) and medical posts at the circuit.
  • Should advise the promoter or circuit operator on equipment and facilities required in the Medical Centre, and at other places at the circuit (including emergency vehicles).
  • Must remain in direct contact with Race Control and the Medical Centre at all times during the Meeting.
