INTRODUCTORY MODULE
Disciplines within DLRA Officiating Unit

 

The DLRA Accredited Official licensing structure has two parts: Graded Officials Licenses and Non Graded Officials Licenses.

  1. Graded Officials Licenses have six grading levels and are available to all DLRA Accredited Officials to achieve.
  2. Non Graded Officials Licenses have two types:
  3. Specialist License holders are those that hold professional qualifications and are registered medical or fire and rescue service providers.
  4. Appointed License holders are those that have been appointed by the management of the DLRA. 

 

DISCIPLINES

For graded officials;

  • Executive Committee - consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Media Manager.
  • General Committee - consists of Camp Coordinator, South Australian Liaison Officer, Department of Environment and Water Liaison Officer, GRAC Liaison Officer, Rule Book Coordinator, Record Certification Officer, Entry Number Coordinator, Merchandise Manager and Web Master.
  • Event Committee - Race Director, Clerk of Course, Timer, Starter, Technical Chairman, Chief Car Inspector, Chief Motorcycle Inspector, Chief of Fire Rescue, Medical Team Leader, Event Coordinator.
  • State Delegates - provide a local point of contact for members in each State.
  • Category Representatives - these are self nominated positions. Appointees will be considered to have expert knowledge in their category. Their purpose is to provide information to Inspectors and interpretation of the rules as it relates to their category.

 

For non-graded officials;

  • Specialist - Medical Services Officer, Fire and Rescue Officer

 

GRADES

An official may hold different levels for different disciplines of officiating at any one time (e.g. they could be a Gold Timer and also a Bronze Car Inspector). The graded levels are defined as follows:

Level 0 - Trainee

For those with no current DLRA officiating experience who are capable of working under direct supervision at a National Event.

Level 1 - General Official

For those officials who work under direct or indirect supervision at events, depending on their amount of land speed racing officiating experience..

Club Chief - (National Level)

For those with land speed racing officiating experience working without supervision, capable of performing the role of Clerk of the Course, Race Director, assuming a team-leader role (except Chief Scrutineer) or Chief Steward role at National events.

Level 2 - Bronze

For those officials qualified to officiate without supervision, capable of performing the role of team-leader (may take responsibility for other officials), officiating as Chief up at National level events and act as General Official at any level event.

Level 3 - Silver

For those officials with DLRA officiating experience qualified to work without supervision, capable of assuming a team-leader role (and taking responsibility for other officials), , officiating as Chief up to International level events, and act as a General Official at any level event.

Level 4 - Gold

For those officials with land speed racing officiating experience qualified to work without supervision, capable of assuming a team-leader role (and taking responsibility for other officials), officiating as Chief up to and including International level events, and act as a General Official at any level event.
